The Button of Freedom
 
During the Civil War this button represented freedom for over 4 million Americans and the opportunity for Free Persons of Color to join the Union Army to fight for that freedom. Over 180,000
African Americans soldiers served the cause of Liberty and helped to end slavery in America. This button was there.
