Spanish Shipwreck Uncut Green Emerald

Wreck:  Nuestra Senora Del Las Maravillas

Sunk: 1656 Little Bahama Bunk, Bahamas

This wreck dates from the Golden age of Pirates with Emeralds being among the most sought-after treasure. These uncut raw emeralds were mined in New World by Natives working as slaves for the Spanish under horrific conditions. Once mined, these raw emeralds were packed and loaded onto ships bound for workshops in the New World where they would be cut and processed into fine gems.

These emeralds and this ship traveled the ocean during the most dangerous era of sail in history, the Golden Age of Pirates.
