MINTED DURING THE PRESIDENCY OF GEORGE WASHINGTON, THIS 1797
"BRITISH CARTWHEEL" COPPER COIN WAS MINTED UNDER THE REIGN OF KING GEORGE III (1760 - 1820) WHO RULED OVER THE AMERICAN COLONIES
UNTIL JULY 4th 1776.
 
HIS COLONIAL SUBJECTS PRESENTED HIM WITH A "DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE", AND GENERAL GEORGE WASHINGTON TOOK COMMAND OF THE FLEDGING CENTENNIAL ARMY. THIS COIN BORE WITNESS TO THE BIRTH OF A NEW REPUBLIC WHOSE CITIZENS WOULD CHANGE THE DESTINY OF THE WORLD.
