Ezekiel Elliott is a professional American football player who currently plays as a running back for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on July 22, 1995, in Alton, Illinois, and was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Elliott played college football at Ohio State University and was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
 
Elliott made an immediate impact in his rookie season in 2016, leading the league in rushing yards with 1,631 yards and earning first-team All-Pro honors. He also helped lead the Cowboys to the playoffs, where they lost in the divisional round to the Green Bay Packers.
