Agate Geodes are ancient water and gas pockets buried deep in the earth. Over millions of years, the minerals in the surrounding soil leach into these pockets and harden. The different minerals present in the soil give the agates the different colors. Once excavated, they are sliced to show the brilliant layering and colors.

Agate is a common rock formation, consisting of chalcedony and quartz as its primary components, consisting of a wide variety of colors. Agates are primarily formed within volcanic and metamorphic rocks.
