WWII German S84/98 III K98 Bayonet with Scabbard and Leather Frog

A World War II-era German S84/98 III knife bayonet made for use with the Karabiner 98k rifle. It features a single-edged, fullered blade, molded grip panels secured by screws, a straight crossguard, and a steel pommel with mounting slot and release button. The serial number 1001 with a smaller suffix character is visible near the base of the blade. This post-1934 pattern is also cataloged as the Model 1884/98 bayonet.

The bayonet includes its dark steel scabbard and black leather belt frog. It measures approximately 15 inches overall.

The set displays age and service wear throughout, including scratches, oxidation, dark patina, spotting, and areas of finish loss on the blade, grip fittings, and scabbard. The grip panels show surface wear and discoloration. The leather frog is dry and worn, with creasing, scratches, weakened stitching, and deterioration around the fastening hardware.
