Pietersite

Pietersite, often called Tempest Stone, is a rare variety of chalcedony known for its striking mix of gold, blue, red, and brown fibers. These swirling patterns create a dramatic visual effect known as chatoyancy, giving the stone its storm-like appearance.

First discovered in Namibia in 1962, Pietersite forms when quartz replaces fibrous minerals through a natural geological process. Its chaotic internal structure makes every piece completely unique.
