An Italian Model 1891 sword bayonet made for the Carcano service rifle. The M1891 pattern was used by the Italian Army from the years before World War I through the interwar period and World War II.

This example features a long, straight, fullered blade, wooden grip panels secured by fasteners, a steel bird’s-head pommel with mounting mechanism, and a crossguard with a hooked quillon.

The bayonet shows considerable age and service wear throughout, including oxidation, dark patina, scratches, staining, scattered pitting, edge wear, and finish loss. The wooden grip panels display discoloration, handling wear, surface marks, and cracking around the fasteners. The guard and pommel also show oxidation and wear.

No scabbard is included. Please review all photographs carefully for condition, markings, and identifying details.
