WWII Cattaraugus 225Q Quartermaster Utility Knife with Leather Sheath

A WWII-era Cattaraugus Model 225Q, commonly known among collectors as the Quartermaster knife. The ricasso is clearly marked “Cattaraugus 225Q.” This heavy-duty military utility knife features a broad clip-point blade with fullers, a stacked-leather washer handle, steel guard, and substantial metal pommel.

The knife includes the brown leather sheath shown. The sheath displays extensive age and use, including dark staining, scratches, dryness, edge wear, small tears and holes, deteriorated stitching.The retaining strap and hardware are present but heavily worn. A faint hand-applied marking is also visible on the sheath.

The blade has a bright polished appearance with scratches, sharpening marks, discoloration, spotting, and areas of finish loss. It may have been cleaned or polished at some point. The stacked-leather handle is compressed, dry, darkened, and uneven from age, while the guard and pommel show patina and surface wear.

It measures approximately 10½ inches overall. Please review all photographs carefully for condition, markings, repairs, and included components.
